The Department of Food Science and Technology is equipped with modern laboratories that support teaching, research, and innovation in food processing, nutrition, and quality analysis. The department's facilities include the Processing Laboratory for food preservation, value addition, and post-harvest management, Nutrient Laboratory for nutritional analysis of food samples and specialized Biotechnology and Molecular Biology Laboratories for microbiological, biochemical, and molecular research. Equipped with advanced instruments and operating under standardized scientific methods, these laboratories provide practical training and support high-quality research in food science, food safety, nutrition, and sustainable agricultural development.

Food Processing Laboratory

The Processing and Post-Harvest Laboratory focuses on the processing, preservation, and quality management of agricultural and food products. It supports practical learning and research in post-harvest handling, drying, packaging, storage, value addition, and quality assessment, with the aim of reducing post-harvest losses, maintaining product quality, and extending shelf life.

Nutrition Laboratory

The Nutrient Laboratory specializes in the analysis of food samples, including proximate composition, vitamins, and minerals. It supports food quality assessment, nutritional evaluation, and research using standardized analytical methods and advanced laboratory techniques to ensure accurate and reliable results.

Molecular Biology Laboratory

The Molecular Biology Laboratory supports teaching, research, and innovation through molecular-level analysis. The facility provides capabilities ranging from DNA and RNA extraction, amplification, sequencing, and molecular characterization to bioinformatics and data analysis, strengthening research and practical learning in biosciences.

Biotechnology & Bioinformatics Laboratory

The Biotechnology & Bioinformatics Laboratory is currently under construction and is being developed to support advanced teaching, research, and innovation. The facility will provide capabilities in biotechnology, molecular analysis, sequencing, bioinformatics, and data analysis, supporting research in food, agriculture, environmental biotechnology, and related biosciences.
